UPDATES ON OUR WORKSHOPS OCTOBER: Anne came up and again showed us some nice little steps and routines to add to our growing collection of Lindy Hop Steps. We did the Anchor variations and a whole heap of very flash looking, but easy, 1920's Charleston moves. Anyone who came to the workshop and has 'forgotten' the anchor moves, dont worry, Laurie and I have been practicing and have got it down pretty well, so we can help you recall and master these steps at a practice night.
SEPTEMBER Anna Ocello from Blue Suede Dance School was our teacher this month. Around 40 people learnt some new routines that started with our basics and then added on some extra ‘frills’ Quite a few stayed on for the social dance and practice—and more than likely, like Laurie and I, were totally exhausted but extremely happy with the afternoon by the 6pm. AUGUST Rina Masai was our guest teacher for August. What a fantastic lesson, we all came away with moves we could use, and learning was heaps of fun. Thanks Rina ! After the workshop at 3pm, Franky & Johnny provided smooth swing music with a touch rock n roll to practice our moves to.
JULY The Katz & Kittenz from the SYDNEY SWING KATZ came to Newcastle Leagues Club to hold our first two 2 hour workshop in Lindy Hop Swing Dancing in July. It was "amazing"! and now we progress towards beginners Part Two.
