SPOTLIGHT ON JOHN WARING
We all know John and Karen from their tireless work for Rock n Roll in Newcastle, but did you know they have been married for 34 years? They met in Parkes when
John was a bank employee there – John was smitten and the rest is history! His school boy days were spent playing sport, chasing girls and getting into
trouble, so not much has changed, except he has caught the girl he wanted so chasing girls, is off the activities list.
Believe it or not, John has other interests – surfing, playing and singing with the Ukastle Ukulele group while Karen likes kayaking, bike riding and is learning to speak Italian.
John also like to chill out in the 1967 Mustang (with Karen) and occasionally when music and dancing is not on the agenda he gets in some reading, Australian literature and autobiographies are on Johns list.
The tough question “if you had one wish what would it be was asked of course, and it would not surprise any of us to hear the response: “world peace would be up there....let’s all get along!”
John’s overall philosophy on life: “We’re here for a good time, not a long time. No use lying back and staring at a coffin lid full of regrets”.
Thank you John.
